The central office of Sparkasse bank in Kulmbach-Kronach was modernized and energetically improved by H2M's architecture office. During these works, the customers' area as well as its neighbouring office and conference rooms were restructured and equipped with new energy-efficient LED lighting. The main hall's redesigned atrium got a large glass roof that provides daylight to the customers' halls located underneath. Based on the architects' approach, we developed a lighting concept that brings natural and artificial lighting together. Now all offices, helpdesks and main hall can be adjusted by an optimized control for daylight. With these interventions all light technical requirements are fulfilled permanently and power consumption is clearly reduced. The atrium's light object is the highlight of our design: 12 light strips arranged radially - completed with 48 spotlights - symbolize the face of a clock. According to our plans, this custom light was manufactured by Mawa Design Company and trough a DALI-protocol it is completely integrated in the light control.
