Due to the renovation of the town hall in Kulmbach, its staircase was supposed to get a significant lighting as well. The challenge was to combine the historic with the modern and to welcome guests with a unique installation of light while entering the building. Following the idea of architect Stephan Häublein, Konzeptlicht designed, produced and installed light objects made of stainless steel and acrylic tubes which are arranged in a vertical row. Three lines with four or five LED lamps each, lead from ground to ceiling throughout the stair well and thereby always present themselves from a different perspective. The cylindrical custom lights are 600 and 1500 mm long and operated with 24V extra-low voltage. The Betriebsgeräte are integrated within the ceiling's baldachin and therefore their maintenance is independent from the light installation.
